Geithner Misled Americans About Bank Bailouts

The inspector general has stated that the Treasury Department misled Americans about its dealing with banks and the bailouts.

Tim Geithner, Obama’s Treasury Secretary who admitted to cheating on his taxes, misled Americans about what he was doing with their money.

Another one of Obama’s cronies deceived Americans yet again.  Does that really come as a surprise to anyone?

“House Republicans Unveil 230-Page Health Reform Bill”

The Republicans unveiled their health reform bill today.  In contrast to the 2,000 page tome of socialism that the Pelosi and the Socialist/Democrats dumped upon Americans a few days ago, the Republicans managed to distill it down to 230 pages.

Some of the major differences with the Republican bill?

• No new requirements for employers to insure their employees
• No madate for nearly all Americans to purchase insurance
• It doesn’t block insurers from denying coverage to people with pre-existing health conditions
• Increases incentives for people to use health savings accounts
• Caps non-economic jury awards in medical malpractice cases at $250,000 (i.e., tort reform)
• Provides various incentives to states with the aim of driving down premium costs
• Allows health insurance to be sold across state lines

These changes promote free markets and increase the freedoms of Americans.  The increased competition that results will lead to lower costs of health care and health insurance, improved services.  And as amazing as it may sound to the Socialist/Democrats, none of it costs Americans any money at all to implement.

Are free markets a “perfect” solution?  There is no perfect solution but free markets are, by far, the best solution that anyone has ever come up with.  It is only because the solution proposed by Obama, Pelosi and Reid, socialism, is so bad that free markets do sound like a deal that is too good to be true.

The biggest problem with the Republica bill is that it comes very late in the decision cycle.

Government Rationing of Health Care: Terrorists First

Yes, the US Government is making sure that the terrorists being held in Guantanimo Bay are to receive the H1N1 vaccine despite the fact that Americans are still going without it including American contractors to the US military.

Although this has been confirmed by the Pentagon today, Obama press secretary continues to deny that the terrorists in Guantanimo Bay will receive the vaccine.

So not only were Obama and the Socialist/Democrats untruthful about rationing of health care, they are perpetuating the same falsehoods even after they have been exposed.  In what way is this the transparency that Obama promised America?

What is clear is that government has always rationed health care via Medicare and Medicaid and continues to do so.  Look at your tax returns, you have paid for it.  Now look up the rules for Medicaid and Medicare, do you qualify to even apply for it?  Not everyone that pays qualifies, that is rationing. 

It is also a foregone conclusion that Obama will ration health care in the future under Medicaid, Medicare and Obamacare; this is only a reminder.

The Climate of Global Socialism

Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary General is demanding that nations like the US pay more money to “fight climate change”.  Ki-moon doesn’t want another $100B.  He wants $100B more each year. 

This is no different than the health care issue the US is dealing with at home.  The global politicians continue to push their socialist agenda and demand that the countries who have their act together should be responsible for and continue to enable and subsidize those who do not.

Ki-moon is delusional if he thinks that he can stop the climate of the world from changing.  If the past 4,500,000,000 years of Earth’s history teaches anything it is that the atmosphere and climate are in a constant state of change (and everything else for that matter).

How noble of Ki-moon to demand that entire nations of people work to create wealth and then give it to him so that he and the UN can make proper use of their labor.  The UN has shown itself to be one of the most corrupt organizations on Earth and yet they maintain the audacity to make demands of others claiming some moral superiority?

The facts are contrary to everything Al Gore, the UN, the IPCC and every other eco-socialist has been attempting to intimidate people into believing.  The Earth has had periods when atmospheric CO2 was ten-times what it is now, there were times when the poles were jungle tropics and there were no ice caps anywhere.  All of these things that the eco-socialists guarantee will bring about a “runaway greenhouse effect” and end life as we know it.  The fact is that all of these conditions have existed in the past, all occurred without humans even in existance and yet there was no runaway greenhouse, life did not end, it flourished and perhaps most importantly, here you are!

The real goal here is not  improving the lives of people or even advancing the science of climatology.  This is socialism and the goal of socialism is always the same: oppression and control.  Ki-moon and those in the UN want not only to seize the wealth of the US but political power from Americans.  None of these UN programs benefit the American, cost Americans unspeakable amounts of their wealth and are all created and operated without Americans having any meaninful voice.  This is not so suggest that Nietzsche’s Hammer wants a voice.  Nietzsche’s Hammer wants Americans to have no part in it whatsoever.

What should be done by America? 

1. Ban Ban: Start with a ban of Ban Ki-moon and his socialist policies to bring down every prospering nation in a misguided effort to raise up every failed nation with the hope that everyone can meet in the middle and enjoy an equal level of missery. 
2. Embrace Individual Freedom: Return to American roots as a nation that embraced individual freedom and free markets and continue on the path to prosperity that was started with the Founding Fathers and continued until the early 1900s when the socialist movement started.

Americans need to Ban Ban, socialism and the UN which all work to undermine freedom and prosperity.

“Ten Races Worth Watching”

CNN has listed ten elections and votes on legislation that are of significance to the individual freedom of Americans.

The outcomes of these races will be a good indication if Americans will continue to move in the direction of socialism and increasing government or reject tyranny and oppression in favor of their individual freedom.

Democrat Proposes to Expand Government Regulation of Airlines

A Northwest flight flew 150 miles past its destination in Minneapolis, MN.  It was discovered that the cockpit crew was using laptop computers which distracted them and led to the error.

Now the chairman of the aviation subcommittee, Senator Byron Dorgan (D), is proposing government regulation to address this issue.

Dorgan is following the common course of all who work in the legislative branch: write more laws to control more of the lives of Americans.  This is wrong, should be rejected and Dorgan should be voted out because of it.

Why is it wrong? 

1. Northwest is owned by Delta.  Delta has an existing policy that prohibits just this sort of behavior by pilots and co-pilots and has already suspended the employees.
2. Does anyone really believe that Northwest or any other airline will continue any similar practices?  If that were to happen again the consumer reaction would be severe.  Delta and Northwest have already had their brand images tarnished.  The industry is too competitive to allow a company to run shoddy service that passengers perceive as irresponsible and dangerous.

By increasing government regulation Dorgan is doing the only thing he knows how to do and it is exactly the wrong thing.  Increasing regulations always leads to increasing the costs for the consumer.  What should be done is not increase government regulation but decrease government regulation.

The consumer pressures mentioned in 2 would be even stronger if there was no regulation.  How?  The FAA regulates who can fly where, they prohibit competition.  If Northwest is one of the few carriers on that route they have more supplier power and can be lazy.  Since the FAA prohibits new entrants they existing carriers are protected from competition.  These factors make the carriers resistant to improvement because that often costs time and money.  This resistance gives the government a reason to write more laws claiming they are in the best interest of the consumer.  Regulation always raises costs to the consumer in one way or another.  Removing regulation however would increase carriers serving that route.  The switching costs for consumers is very low when it comes to picking a flight so having more choice would mean that carries would also have to provide better, safer service and lower prices to stay in business.

Again, we have a misguided effort on part of government that is completely unnecessary and will only expand government control and not be in the best interest of the consumer.  It is more of the same and it is not good.  The real solution is the same as it ever was: free markets.  The consumer will decide which airlines they and what kind of services they demand.  As is almost always the case, there is simply no place for government here.

The Stimulus Effect in Oregon

The effect of Obama’s Socialist Stimulus in Oregon has not been what Obama led the nation to believe.

It has not created real jobs, only expanded government and provided a temporary “busy work” for a few in the private sector.

One person was hired by a socialist government program to help deal with the increase in their caseload due to the recession.  He was told that this position was permanent.  That gives great insight into how the government operates.  It clearly implies that there is no intention whatsoever of reducing government, only expanding it. 

And when things get better and the caseload drops will this person vote for the candidate who will promise to reduce government waste by doing what every profitable, well-run business does, cutting unnecessary labor?  That would certainly be the right thing to do for the country but will this person vote for it when the time comes?  Of course not and neither will any of the people who have received similar positions or increases in wages and benefits.  This is how the socialists in America bribe the electorate.  It is corruption through and through.

Just one more real example in the long list of failures of socialism.

Government-run Healthcare Costs Skyrocket … and it hasn’t even gotten started

Just a few weeks ago Nancy Peloci, Harry Reid and all Obamanites the nation over were heralding the fact that Obamacare would be “budget neutral”.  Budget neutral means that it would not increase the size of the existing budget.  The CBO stated that as their proposal was written, it would be budget neutral.  There were a few catches however.

• The CBO was skeptical that the things in the plan which made it budget neutral could in fact be done.  This was like the Socialist/Democrats saying “If our pig could fly…” and the CBO responding “Well maybe, if your pig could fly.”
• Budget neutral means that the program would not increase the size of the budget.  The budget is deficit spending.  Maintaining the same level of spending is not an option.
• The only way they could arrive at a claim of budget neutral is with hundreds of billions in new taxes and claiming that they were going to cut Medicare/Medicaid funding by hundreds of billions more.  While everybody believes that they will raise taxes tremendously, tax increases have never provided the projected amount because raising taxes hurts the economy and people create less wealth and therefore make less money for the government to seize.  Simply put: the pie gets smaller.  And nobody believes that the Socialist/Democrats will cut funding to any socialist or entitlement program nevermind cutting hundreds of billions of dollars.  It is all simply fantasy but necessary to make the numbers appear to work.
• The proposal was budget neutral by less than 1%.  They claimed an $80B savings over ten years on a plan that would cost $856B.  That means if they are off by anywhere near 1% this program is a failure.  There is simply no way that they are that close in their cost estimates over a ten-year period.  All US medical government-run programs have underestimated costs by nearly 900%.  There is no reason at all to belive that this plan will not follow the same trend of explosive, uncontrolled cost over-runs and that brings us to the Socialist/Democrats new plan.

The new and improved version has been out for a few days and the preliminary figures are in.  The new and improved plan will come in at $1.2T.  Yes, it will be 43% more expensive than what they told Americans it would cost only a few weeks ago.  And these are the most optimistic numbers possible because they come from the people who are trying so desperately to pass it: the Socialist/Democrats.  Using the results of every US government-run medical program the reality is that this new program will end up costing Americans $10.8T.  With that single plan, Obamacare, Obama, Pelosi, Harry Reid, the Socialist/Democrats and all who support it will have doubled the existing national debt.  This is on top of the additional spending by Obama which the CBO has concluded will add an additional $9-10T.

Every government-run program in history has grown well beyond what the government so confidently projected.  In only a few weeks Obamacare has gone from $774B to $859B to $1,200B (i.e., $1.2T).  It has nearly doubled!  Again, keep in mind that those costs are not the real costs.  The government’s history on such matters shows the real cost will be about 900% higher or $10.2T as the proposed version of Obamacare stands currently.

Obama promised change you can believe in.  The Obama agenda and that of the Socialist/Democratic Party is, and has always been, to change the US into something that resembles Castro’s Cuba, Stalin’s USSR or Mao’s China.  Believe it.

Bigger government is always a bad for the people it is imposed upon; this is well-known and accepted fact demonstrated clearly time and again throughout history the world over.    The fact is that Pelosi and the Socialist/Democrats are trying to quietly grow government. 

Pelosi and the Socialist/Democrats have tried to hide the true intention of their party agenda: seize all power from Americans by quietly growing government.  This willful misleading of Americans by Pelosi and the Socialist/Democrats, including Obama, is the most blatant example of corruption the US has ever seen.

This is a clear attempt to make a major move against every American in seizing control of the nation.
